Moors Man
Hi Everyone I am thinking of getting one of the Bucket Seats with the padded seat. They seam to be approx. 20 litres but was wondering what you can actually fit into one of these. Cheers

fishingtex
I get flask and water bottle for me, Water and biscuits for my lab "Boris". Got to look after him as he works hard. 1x 7amp 1x4 amp batteries, 4 boxes of carts. Some wooden skewers (kebab type) to prop dead birds up with. Electronic ear defenders and two double bird carriers just in case I have a decent day? Plenty of room in them really just got to jiggle your stuff around to get it to fit. Bluebarrels
As posted above you can get plenty in them but thought it worth mentioning that it also keeps all your bits clean and dry and with it having a big base you don't get "seat sink" like you do with some other seats on soft ground BB Edited April 29, 2013 by Bluebarrels
Mochastorm
What sort of weight can these seats withstand. I'm of 'just above' average weight by a few stone, and was wondering how robust the plastic is.
Bluebarrels
Well im just over 15 stone mate and have no problems BB
indio
Quite new to this as per previous posts but bought a J/Pike one which saved me carrying a beer crate to put my backside on ( stopped the creases in my backside too). you can get a mountain of stuff in it including cart's / cam, nets, pegs, flask, sarnies etc etc. keeps the stuff dry too. Takes my weight easy 15 stone+. I would get yourself a bit of extra padding for the seat ( i use a bit of foam) as your backside might get a bit numb on a long session (stops you moving about in the hide). Only fault I would say is handle should be made of metal as plastic handle is showing signs of stress carrying gear in it ( No it's not from the stress of supporting me !!) Just my opinion of course. kind regards
Bluebarrels
That's easy enough to sort mate,a length of webbing strap (old car seat belt would be ideal) and a few large washers and a few nuts/bolts,and a few mins of your time either replace the plastic carry handle with the webbing strap,or leave the webbing strap long so you can carry on the shoulder BB Edited April 30, 2013 by Bluebarrels
indio
BB that looks like the mutts nuts. Much better than the orginal. Perhaps you ought to go see J/P and put your alterations in front of them and get a few quid for your idea ! kind regards
Cosd
Overall I would say these are very good, and like someone said keeps stuff dry and delicate bits protected. The only downside I found was that you have to find a bit of flat ground to sit it on else it makes for an uncomfortable day of balancing, and the lack of a back rest. Saying all of that I've used it for a few years now and still happy to recommend it. I've just invested in one of the Bergara seats and that really is super comfortable with the back rest making all the difference; The 4 independantly adjustable legs allow for set up on uneven terrain too. My Cabela's bucket seat is surplus to requirements but I am reluctant to sell it as it really is that good too.

codling99
i made my own swivel bucket, then had the bright idea of switching to a shakespear seatbox that i had for fishing. can fits loads in there and its got a breakaway seat conversion on back for carrying hands free like a rucksack, its a comfy seat, and got a backrest, perfect. landy george
Thanks for the idea BB, My £14 bucket turned up with a reel of cotton for a handle. I had an old seat belt laying around in the shed, works a treat.
