Outlook is the software, not the email server. Ermm think of a car for getting you somewhere, the car is what you use to get their (outlook) the journey is the email. You can use lots of different cars but the jorney is the task. Outlook normally accepts most email formats , Skype, gmail, ymail etc etc. But it needs to be set up to do so, sometimes it requires manually entering the pop address etc. Try "add a new email account" then enter the information it asks, if you get stuck Google is your friend. Hope this helps, not great at trying to explain things

No, just to confuse things Microsoft have launched outlook.com as an email service and migrated all hotmail accounts.

Outlook is now both a car and a journey.

Guess they think it adds to the brand.
