sandersj89
I am in the process of filling out an application form for a firearm and have a few questions. I have fired of an email, to my local fire arms officer who I have met a few times over the years while dealing with shotgun certificates for myself and most recently for my son, and he is very helpful but I believe he is away on holiday at the moment so might not get a quick reply. So I thought I would ask here for some guidance. For information I have decided on a .17HMR for vermin control and close range fox. So my questions are: Question 19 Firearms Details. Do I need to mention a moderator here as well as the rifle? Question 20. Ammo holding and purchase. What is a sensible level to go for?. Hold 500 buy 250 or higher? Part E Referees. They must not be members of your immediate family but would that exclude my father in law. I have shot with him for many years and he would be more than happy to act as a referee and he is coming to stay with us soon so can sort the paper work with him. Thanks for the advice. Now all I need to decide upon is the make and type of rifle……. Jerry

Thanks for the feedback. I was always going to get a mod but they are not mentioned in anyway on the form, I will add it now though. Ace has already offered and I will be taking him up on the chance to see it once I get the FAC in my hands. I dont want to tempt myself too much at this stage as the waiting will be bad enough as it is. Sussex police have always handled my SGC pretty fast but not sure how long they are with FAC's. I have been told CZ's are a good value rifle but I have no idea yet as not really researched it at this point. Thanks Jerry
Graham M
Can't use your father-in-law as that counts as "Immediate family". G.M.

It would just have been very easy to organise. I have plenty of other options. Thanks Jerry

Save a few days send it direct Yes he is based in Uckfield and said to send it to him direct so he can handle it himself. He is a very decent bloke, member of BASC and CA so has an interest and it is not just a job for him. Last time I saw him he had a CA Liberty and Livelihood wrist ban on......... But thanks for the tip. Jerry
