What are you all zeroing your 223's at? I did mine the other week with my mentor and set it 1 inch high at 100 uards using 55gr Privi Partizan SP.

Zeroing at 1 inch high should this put you on up to around 200 yards? I know different bullets have different trajectorys but from other peoples experiences?

Would the ppu be accurate enough to shoot crows (on the ground ) at 200yds

When zeroed here is the groups I achieved with my Browning A-Bolt

Thanks all

Lewis

most people zero 1" high at 100 yards - gives a very flat range. - i changed to zero at 100 yards as i have a TDS4 reticle scope now.

Yep, 1" high at 100 allows one to shoot pretty much spot on out to 200yds - not going more than an inch up or down within that range.

If your barrel likes them, but don't expect to head shoot them, and zero at 200 yards if you want to shoot things there, not 1" from anywhere, zero at the distance you want to shoot at!:good:

What sort of groups at 200yds should I expect to see? Giving the 100 yd group above

It will obviously open out a bit, some of that will be the gun and ammo, some will be you.

You are apparently new to this/the gun, a bit of practice will keep things as tight as they can be, but don't forget to look after the gun....are you using a sound mod and bipod/sticks? :good:

Interesting, I zero at 150 as thats my typical range to shoot - wary foxes round here. I have shot them at 200+ yds and off home made sticks.

One night I shot 2 cubs at 195 and 207 and was flabbergasted that it cant have been as much of a fluke as I thought.

If you zero at 200 then depending on ammo and length of barrel bullet weight etc you can expect to be 1-2" high at 100 and very similar to that at 50. Versus 2-4" low at 200 with a 100 yard zero. Its far easier to allow for the former than the latter as it is just point and bang to 225 at least on foxes and often a fair bit further. Simply no one can say what your groups and drop will be at 200 so the best way is to get the target out there practice till you are happy!
