Cranfield
I only realised this morning that it was that magical date, the start of the Coarse Fishing season. Many years ago I would have been at the waterside yesterday evening, all set up and ready for the off at midnight. Sometimes on my own, other times having a "social" with some other anglers. How things change. Now with the advent of enclosed waters being open all year, local trout waters disappearing and being turned into carp lakes, fishing in the rivers near me not worth the effort, due to the massive amount of damage done by the cormorants, the magic has gone.
