bunny_blaster
Yesterday evening I went out with the new Hushpower .410 to see what was about. As I walked up a small spinney I heard the crows and magpies going mad at something and as I came round the corner of the release pen there was a fox standing there. It saw me as I saw it and bolted. I quietly walked up to a small patch of nettles and started calling. The fox came straight back out, a few more quiet squeaks and it came running in, it got to about 20 yards and 18 grams of 7's dropped it on the spot, a nice vixen I then decided to go and wait on a freshly cut field of grass but on the way I swung by some meadows I shoot to see if they had been cut. They had and there was a fox mooching about. I grabbed the rifle and stalked into the fox. It was oblivious to my presence and I watched it mousing for a few minutes before taking the shot, another vixen. I carried on and arrived at my intended field. This field always produces foxes as it has a big wood on 2 sides and then a plantation on the other 2. I got to my chosen spot waited for 10 mins and started calling. Immediately a jay started creating down the plantation when suddenly a fox came through the stock fencing no more than a meter away from me, it ran off but stopped 60 yards away and looked back. Fox number 3 which was a well on cub. The bullet hit it in the face and made a right mess so I won't put the picture up. I stayed in the same spot and saw nothing for the next hour. I was about to call it a day when another fox appeared right on last light. I followed it in the scope and as soon as it stopped I took the shot. Once again a mature vixen.
