aister
I have the battery powered LRF 600, I cant fault it but then again it's the only range finder I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to. I use mine with the .223 with great success, it does all I ask of it.

dadioles
There are one or two appearing on the market now with a backlit display. I wish I had one with that facility. I have a Nikon Laser 550 which is really very good and well built. I also have a Bushnell somewhere but it was not as stable or clear, hence the Nikon. Being able to rangefind accurately at close distances is important to me as I use rimfire and air rifle. The distance to a buffalo half a mile away is of no interest. 5 yards or 10 yards is the closest most will work but some do not operate closer than 50 yards so be careful. In my view a rangefinder is really essential.
VINCED 686
I've got the LRF 600 and it does all it needs to you just need to have a clear line of sight with it. its a great bit of kit. I totally agree with dadioles ..... a range finder is a must especially if your using an air rifle.
