Big Marty
Hi folks, My Berlingo Van is up for P.S.V next week and seems to be ok apart from the horn not working. My Mechanic who is also a mate says that it's some coil thing that goes at back of the steering and its £300 to replace. He said he could by-pass it and put a switch on the dash for the horn, but the problem is he,s not sure if that will pass test. So Iam asking you folk if (A) you have any idea if you can do that, and (B) have any of you come across this before with Berlingo, and if you have is there any way around it other than above mentioned.. Forgot to say when you take the Keys out of the ignition and press the horn it works every time. Hope someone can HELP.. Thank For Now.. Paul223
Push button on the dash is fine, just label it
Fuji Shooter
Had a push button on our Caterham for years as the steering wheel is removed to get in, never had a problem with MOT as long as your either tell them or label it as they are not the sharpest tool in the box. Lord Geordie
The com2000 unit can be repaired normally. It will involve removal of the rotary contact unit and some soldering skills. A guy here has managed to sort his out! http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=

Pastiebap
Thats good saves a lot of hassle. As long as it sounds whenever the tester asks you to push it then you should be fine. I certainly had no problems at Mallusk.
Big Marty
As long as it sounds whenever the tester asks you to push it then you should be fine. I certainly had no problems at Mallusk. I always go to Ballymena, used to go to Cookstown but was sure to fail the first test every time, where as Ballymena so far as been grand for me. As I said my mate is a mechanic and he said he wouldn't take a push bike to Cookstown, he always goes to Ballymena or Mallusk. Anyway thank everyone for pointers really helped.....
