Wish Me Luck

As title. Today, if I can get close to what I sensibly think is the trade in value of my runabout then I'll get my sticky little fingers on a lovely X Trail. In which case anyone after a cracking shooting vehicle which could double up for work and possibly family use at a realistic price will need to keep an eye on the For Sale forums.

Good luck. :good:

The missus drives an X-trail and it's a nice motor. One day she might let me put **** in it and drive it off road. :)

Thanks, mate. Would you do me another favour and wish me luck with the lottery this week - make sure you do it as well!:good:

Not one, but two different outfits offered me sensible prices on the runabout against a 2.0L dCi Aventura Explorer, one being the preferred 173 and the other the 150. The timing is good as I'll eyeball the 173 on Friday and if this fails then (provided it's not sold beforehand) I'll get the 150 on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Sorted, got the 173 which will be delivered on Wed/Thurs. Not a bad deal and part of the package is that he'll sell the Ranger for me in return for a pint. I'll park up the MX5 until it's collected and with a bit of luck I might get a couple more foxes/rabbits through the Ranger truck top roof hatch before that disappears

Know what you mean, but this time the fun is somewhat muted.

The MX5 is a roadster model so not a problem in the winter and at this time of year a trip across Dartmoor/Exmoor or even just along our sea front is a delight. I've shot countless foxes from the top of the Ranger truck top and I don't think I'll be able to match that set up.

My drive is a single car width and the Sat Nav brigade from the local holiday camp have discovered the short cut down our road and the traffic volume and speed (what 30 mph limit!?) has changed what was a simple task of swapping vehicles into an half hour game of musical cars. The final straw was a fortnight or so ago when the duty drongo who should have given way didn't and nor did the chap who didn't have to so drongo ploughed into the Ranger - I'd taken the MX5 over Dartmoor at the time. Fortunately, my neighbour clocked him. Looking back, he did me a favour as the damage to me was just cosmetic plastic but on the front of the Ranger the strips are full width so in effect I have a nice new front. I think he was just 3rd party and he managed to shove his bonnet through his windscreen so a bit of a mess plus in addition to the repairs to mine there's the hire of a brand spanking new Toyota Rav 4 Icon for a fortnight. Don't fancy his next years premium!

Well, that didn't quite go to plan. Got the X Trail but the rear near side door has decided not to open and I've found the cracks on the plastic molding at the front. Annoying but all in hand. So, there's a very nice Ranger complete with shooting hatch for sale on Ebay and Autotrader tomorrow so I'm told. The Reg. ends in NUK. No, it's not me advertising it.
