Davyo
Well after losing my son of the spare wheel for the umteenth time I decided to take the jig saw to the vit roof.Bought a sunroof (one with the removable class) for £20 out of an old clio from the scrappy took 20mins to fit. Now he can sit on a bucket &when I turn round he'll still be there. So please with the results I am thinking of fitting another up front. Davyo
Its a doddle mate with a jig saw & the correct blade just drill a pilot hole and once you have cut half way round stick gaffa tape over the half you've just cut to stop it fallin in on you.The trick is not to force the jig saw & take your time. four-wheel-drive
Have you got any photos of it I would love to have a hatch in my vitara but its my everyday car so I do not want to mess up the roof lining to much.
Davyo
I will post some,i took my roof lining out along with the carpets ages ago as this is a shooting truck only, however the sunroof has the SEAM to pop the roof lining in once cut. Main problem was the ribs on the vit roof but you can flatten them or just put loads of sealent on before fitting the top section. as its only for shooting i didnt bother wiping the exess sealant off or it would be realy neat. Davyo
If anyone thinks of doing this remember to get a fair bit of drainage hose as there are 2 drainage nipples at the front of the sunroof.l just took a load of some cars and a hand full of connector nipples cost£1 for 8mtrs.Ran these along roof and down the door pillars.Sunroof £20. Hoses "£1 sealant £2.99,gona fit another up front at the weekend.
