Hi folk when is the best time to go pigeon shooting do you think early morning like dawn mid afternoon or later thanks

I prefer 9 or 10 am onwards at this time of year.

At the moment I prefer afternoons .Mid to late afternoons. That seems to be when most pigeons are shot by me, at this time of year.

Although I am there all day.

Just spend time watching the fields. When (and if) the flight line starts in earnest then that's the time to set up.

Rarely set up before midday this time of year like to get hide position just right as normally set up in the middle of the field and moving my homemade bush takes a while.

I tried an early start of 7am and by the time I got ther and set-up they had already fed and did not return until around 2pm.... The again it was very hot and nothing was moving much. A lot more active late afternoons and evening this time of year.
