Davyo
Bought one of these for a fiver after watching a bloke with one arm park his car.Banged it on the 4x4 and it has made life easy around the farm, especially when steering and using the hand held lamp. four-wheel-drive
I had one on my Jeep Cherokee when I broke my wrist it worked fine no problem driving with one hand and good fun to use when My wrist was getting better I took it off as it was good for my wrist to get it moving again. There are two problems with them they say that if you are using it when off road and you hit a large stone it can damage your hand if it jerks the steering wheel suddenly but the thing that stopped me from putting it back on was thinking that with modern power steering I would think you could soon were your front tyres out. stubby
I have one on my landy, make sure you fit it at the bottom of steering wheel when wheels are straight, if driving on normal roads, as they are illegal unless you're registered disabled, being at the bottom of steering wheel makes them less obvious to plod
deershooter
Steering wheel knobs are not illegal for any one and the best place to fit one is 11 o'clock on the steering wheel if you are right handed with hand controls Deershooter
stubby
if I was you davyo, I'd google it, most are saying illegal unless disabled, also that your supposed to inform insurance as its a modification to the steering, or just stand up in court if you ever get nicked and say, deershooter said it was ok

stubby
One knob for sale perf to someone diabled. don't sell it, just fix to bottom on wheel so it's not visible when normal driving, I used to fit mine only when lamping as it is great when shooting/driving, but as a lazy s0d, Ive since left it on there, nearly 2yrs now and ain't been pulled yet, just have a spanner handy, lol

four-wheel-drive
The first one that I got was a nice chrome one that was secured with two philips head screws but as my steering wheel was leather and a bit soft it started to twist on the wheel when going around corners so I go another one that was made of thick steel and clamped with a large bolt on to the wheel that one worked great but did leave some marks on the leather when I took it off.
