shugmcm
can a strong gust of cross wind deflect a 75grain bullet out to a 400 yard target, shooting a 243, wind roughly 20mph,

Grandalf
Everything travelling through an airmass is affected by the speed of that airmass over the ground. (Wind). Aircraft, rockets, arrows, lead/steel shot and bullets. Can't change the laws of physics.
casts_by_fly
that is a lot of wind over a long distance. without digging into a calculator, I'm going to guess over 2 feet, maybe even 3. thanks rick
Doggone
v-max, guessing velocity at 3500 fps., would be 24.6 inches. Andy.
kent
Yes it can it depends on the angle of the wind (9 o'clock, 3 o'clock being the fullest value), constant or varying and it can also be blown up or down depending on the topography. In a strong cross wind that same bullet could be blown a fair few inches at 100 yds let alone
