3 Foxes on the Bean Stubble

Shooting a lot of foxes does have some disadvantages…….One being they are getting thin on the ground, I saw the combine chewing through the beans last night and I was all ready planning the shoot on it!

Then this afternoon to my horror the quad track had pulled into the bean field and my heart sunk….

With half of the ground left I took a drive/walk over the remaining field this evening to see what might have returned after legging it from the combine…

In the end they must have come from one corner of the field as the first was shot an hour earlier but I was low on fuel so went and filled up then checked a few fields on my way back…

The first of the second 2 was around 600 yards away but trotted at a steady pace too my reed caller.

I was going to call it a night but 2 sets of eyes were blinking in the distance, so back on the caller….I had to move side ways as he was coming well but no safe shot but the 100 yards move left worked a treat…

All very heavy foxes as the last few months in this field had fed them well…
