Albert 888
thanks for the input guys, obviously from nosing on the net i could see a vast range in materials and price but didnt realise there was that much quality difference ;:" around the time i started this thread i emailed a few ebay sellers and a couple reccomended i try the prologic max-4 as they should fit me.. price seemed ok and i can return if they dont fit so i might try them.. i know cabelas may be better and my brothers in the states every couple of months so if i enjoy fowling i may invest in a pair next year and he can bring them home for me... really dont want to this year as i may not like it and my weights changing at the moment as im dieting.. If you get the prologic ones keep the recite as I know a couple of lad who's dient last long.
Albert 888
Vass make some really tough waders even fowlers would find hard to ruin, a lad I know uses them for crawling over barnacles to get crabs for fishing. If they were bigger in the calf, dont fit 20" calves i would have bought them. Figgy I can only say what I have found with the waders mentioned and I wouldnt buy any of the makes again. Do around 40 trips a season and they dont last one season.
Varminator
Agree with you again Tigger, The last 4 seasons i have shot a minimum of twice a week as i live minutes from the foreshore, and considering i shoot one of the bigger, more physically demanding marshes i doubt that there are many people that could put them through worse than i already have. 4 seasons old and still like brand new, i can't ask for more than that! As I said, you probably don't go out as much as me or it may be you only have to walk a small distance. It could just be your on an nice easy sandy bit of marsh and where I go is a bit more hardcore with the mud sucking at your ankles, which has put more pressure on the seams. I'll try a "cheaper" pair and see how it goes and report back in a couple of years time. £40 for a green pair seems a little more appealing than forking out £150. No, i shoot only on marshes that are thick deep mud and i shoot at least twice a week, if you can shoot more often than that i seriously envy you. kiffy
If you get the prologic ones keep the recite as I know a couple of lad who's dient last long. oh that fills me with confidence as i ordered them... as it is i probable wont do more than half a dozen trips this year and thats the outside more likely four trips... to far to travel and not enough time. unfortunatly! kent
I do walk alot and that pannel bond is spot on. Its not my fault I have the build of a long distance runner. What on earth has being a bean pole got to do with your choice of Adhesive? Aquasure is designed for waders, is fully flexible yet tough and abrasion proof (panel bond is for- well panels ). When its just part cured (not fully wet) you can wet your fingers and mold it like a sort of putty ( I do this creating shooting head fly lines to get a smooth transition through the guides of the rod). It works on souls but only temporary, eventually it will separate (I fixed a pair of neoprene Hunter welly soles that came adrift and they lasted a month or three perhaps) not strong enough. I think the bloke who wears only one shoulder strap and has the gusset round his knees,( you know the one with the freaky short legs) might be the hardest on waders, especially when he goes walkies all over the estuary

Don't fret, Albert's marsh involves a lot of walking and gutter jumping. 4-5 trips a year most things should last years, just was the salt and mud clear and take care of them

Used locktight supperglue on my neoprene hunters worked a treat. I still think a wet suit and some gortex socks and trainers would be better than waders;-). Also maybe a mask and snorkel for when I fancey a dip.
anser2
Like varminator I have always found cheast waders at the cheaper end of the market the best value. I have never had a pair of cheast waders last more than a season and some of the more expensive ones have only lasted a few trips on the marsh. I have found however the more you use the waders the longer they last within reason. The problems occour when a pair of waders have been left hanging on a hook for a period of time . The waders tend to become stiff and then they start to leak. Wearing them 5-6 times a week keeps them supple. I have never been a fan of neoprean as i get far to hot in them even in sub zero temps. I usualy get a pair of Diwa thin ones for about £35 get a seasons use and then buy another pair the next season.
Barls2-9-12
Last season I went through 2 pairs of them well made prologic waders. What a waste of money first pair went on the boot and second just above the top of the boot. The thing is the first pair went by the middle of October. Going to try a pair from the states. Leaving them wet avoids the salts being able to act on the materials. Salt dries stuff out absorbing all the moisture from an object or meterial

kiffy
i know they where cheap, or cheapish.. and i know i should have got better but there where several reasons i didnt. first one was i have never wild fowled before and didnt know if i would like it and secondly i for about 12 years have had issues travelling, i used to get violently ill... its only the past year ive been slowly getting over it and the three hour each way trip tp the ground may have meant i couldnt do it.. thankfully ive been fine... so much so im gagging to get back up there. i emailed the ebay seller saturday when i got home, explained that i had only used them once previously and that where i sue them there isnt any stress put onthem which is the truth, most of my walk in is on a gravel footpath and most of the marsh is like a lawn.. wella lawn covered in goose ****. i told them i want a replacment and want it by saturday as im off out again.. and noreply yet... thankfully i used paypal so will claim if i get grief my brothers of to florida again wednesday so i think i might be on cabelas or one of the other similar sites later having a nose

tigger
Do they not get abit warm when walking? I'm not going to lie they can do early season I just wear shorts, later on the specific wader liner bottoms which do a good job of wicking sweat away, the reason I went for the 5mm were three fold my theory is 5mm less likely to wear less, stronger should I get a snag and more material to prevent water ingress worked so far, but you soon get used to them no chance of getting cold that I can assure you been in water in -8 conditions and no hint of being cold, so a small price to pay to have reliable waders IMO
