The Hunting Act

Hi,

I have been sent this text:

On the 22nd December the Today programme (BBC Radio 4) chose the Hunting Act as one of six pieces of legislation for its 'Christmas repeal' and you can now vote for the Act to be "consigned to the dustbin of British history". Many of you will have heard Jim Barrington make an unanswerable case for scrapping the Act on Tuesday morning. His argument that the legislation is confused, illiberal and inhumane, was all the more powerful for being put by a man who used to lead the campaign for a ban.

To vote please ring 0901 5221 005 (costs 15p)

Please vote to get rid of this ridiculous piece of legislation and show your support for the countryside!!!

Does anybody know any more about this as I cannot confess to being a BBC Radio 4 listener?

Merry Christmas. :good:

FM

If you listen to Jim Barrington's piece though you'll hear him say that he wants the act repealed to allow a wider ranging 'Protection of Wild Mammals Bill'

They are all proteceted already except for our friends Brer Fox, Rabbit, Hare, Squirrel, Rat etc, so my guess is he actually wants all hunting of mammals banned.
