Loki
Hi Mark You may want to search the Forum for a Surefire? 501b, with modifications (courtesy of DaveG et al on here), provides very useful rimfire range illumination. Okay, its not a Cree/Lenser but many users seem to have found it fit for purpose. Modified, likely to be well below your indicated budget. Cheers, L
peek-at
I have posted this set up before but here it is again. It is a Red or Green cree ultrafire lamp with scope mount and pressure switch.I have used this for a while now and as a budget set up I dont think it can be beat. Really good build quality and still going strong. As the lamps have Red/Green emitters, all of the light is available and it will easily allow you to shoot out to 60yds. Both are good & dont tend to frighten off the rabbits as much as a white light either. (They use 2 x CR123 batteries and its worth having spares if you are out lamping for a while. You can get them & a charger on Ebay)A lamp, scope mount and remote switch comes in at about a tenner delivered!Links below.Red Cree lightScope MountPressure switchGreen Cree LightConverging lens ...........edges need sanding a little to fit housing but easy job and throws light further Edited September 30, 2013 by peek-at
arjimlad
I just got around to grinding down a converging lens to fit my red LED Ultrafire WF-501b. I used a diamond whetstone. Popped out to test it.... Wow, it will certainly be good for picking the bunnies up at 75yds plus, whereas on the original lens it was only good to about 45-50 yards. Looks like I will not be needing the Clulite gunlamp & heavy battery ! Edited October 1, 2013 by arjimlad
