jayman
Hi All, Anyone got a bit of rough / scrub land to rent in Norfolk for the purpose of training my gundogs on? 1-2 Acres with cover (meadow marsh grazing woodland etc) would be ideal. no shooting required other than a starter pistol. Land would be maintained and any DS removed. Would also like to put in a small rabbit pen, but not essential. If I've got "2 Hopes" in this. let me know?? rimfire4969
Do some door knocking. Any farmer would let you have a 2 acre bit of land for that money. Move to Cornwall I have the perfect patch for you.
Thedeerman
Bloody hell!! Get a bank loan and buy a couple of acres, repayments would be much less than that!
jayman
Wouldn't appear to be that good an offer, no Interest as yet! Might just have to move to Cornwall. Never mind Picked up my first Gun last night, well chuffed and got my first offer of some pigeons on Saturday.
tigger
Why not offer to go beating for a gamekeeper and get training land pest control etc for free that's the easiest way and the way a lot of people get such land the way forward imo
Blunderbuss
I along with 6 others, including a couple off here lease the shooting rights on 150 acres. It costs me £100 a year. I think you should be looking to get a lot more, or pay a lot less. Good luck
Grandalf
Strewth! I rent 230 acres of shooting which includes 1.5 acres of game cover and 6 acres of wood for half of what you are offering. If I lived closer you could have my back garden...
jayman
Not sure many gamekeepers would be happy with me constructing a rabbit pen, or hunting up Spaniels and disturbing the ground. I suspect shooting rights is just that the right to shoot vermin on said land, and not for the purpose of training dogs. I also want to have something now and not have to wait on developing contacts through the normal lines. Difficult one I know, especcially as your looking at minimum 10k an acre. The search goes on
