TIDES EDGE
I am having trouble with the Teal decoys I brought, the keels do not seem to have enough weight in them and they tip onto their sides in the slightest breeze, I was thinking of drilling a hole into the keel as it is seperate from the body to allow water in and give more weight . Anybody else had this problem and if so how did you fix it.
la bala
could you drill the bottom and and attach some lead weights.
fenboy
Better to drill a hole add some lead shot or such like , or use some epoxy glue to glue some flat lead flashing onto the keel . Graeme1
Have the same problem with the mallard decoys also they make so much noise with water hitting them that I can't hear birds
kent
I drill out a lot of larger deeks with a hole front and rear and remove the weight (often just gritty sand). This makes them lighter to carry and stops them surfing in strong flows. With teal I doubt the keel is large enough though so I should add not remove ballast, try lashing some strips of roofing lead on and secure with silicone or similar perhaps?
