Malik
I need new tyres and have been looking at All Terrain Tyres. What is the biggest tyre i can fit to my truck without lifting or causing rubbing issues? I've been looking on the internet but i am finding conflicting answers. I read somewhere that 265/70/17 will fit on the standard alloy wheels no problem... Is that true? Its a 2009 L200 Animal currently fitted with 245/65/R17. At the moment i do about 70% road to 30% off road use, if that is helpful. Last few winters i've been caught out by bad weather, especially snow!!! The van was absolutely useless, i could hardly go to work Thanks in advance if anyone replies

Malik
Thats a good point i never thought about. I found a website to calculate the speed difference http://tire-size-conversion.com/speedometer-calibration/ Still, i need to find what tyre is the biggest but best fit...? Thelongwayup
I have 255/55/18's on mine. Different wheel size I know but we don't have any bother with rubbing at all. Put General grabber AT2's on. Fantastic tyres for going round fields, into the woods, snow etc. Don't do any serious offroading in it though so can't comment on that situation. al4x
General tyres used to have a part on their website showing what fitted on what rims. Mine has the 16" wheels and I swapped the set from 265/70 to 245/75 as at tyres were more available and far cheaper width isn't all you want in an at tyre a higher profile generally gets you more choice. The other thing is your economy will drop anyway with at tyres going wider will drop it further
BrowningDJC
I would go for 245 70 17, close to standard so no rubbing issue. Either BF Goodrich all terrain, or General Grabber AT. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m56b0s3156p0/SUV_Tyres_-_4x4_Tyres_-_All_Terrain_Tyres_-_Off_Road_Tyres_-_17_inch_R17_inch_-_245_70_17_245_70R17 Edited November 9, 2013 by BrowningDJC
Malik
Yes, i was definitely thinking to get General Grabbers. A lot of internet searching and so on.... They seem to be the most popular http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/product-info.php?prodname=&id=31269 http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/product-info.php?prodname=&id=16941 seems like a decent price on this website... Could be wrong lol
