Essex Keeper
So I've been playing with my home made nv kit on my .223 and it's working really well happy I'm using it with a nightmaster 800ir and getting clear results to 150-200 yrds eye shine some 400 yrds plus Has any one tried a ir filter on a lightforce ? What sort of results have we had Any one found a better screen yet? Or a small screen so you can use it like an eye view like looking in a scope
Sean100uk
I have ir filter on my lightforce 170 and it's very good
gaz-loc
I got some ir filter sheeting and made my own for lightforce 240 and it was truly superb. One thing is it gets very hot very quickly, so I made the filter with a considerable gap between it and the light which helped with this but only slightly. Just turn it on when you want to shoot and you will have no bother. Don't waste money on the lightforce ir filters, make your own, unless you have the money to spend obviously. Hope this helps Gaz
steve_b_wales
I have used a 'dedicated' IR filter on my Blaserlite lamp. The amount of IR it throws out is tremendous. I used to use this in conjunction with my Cobra Merlin with DSA. I could see fox sized targets at well over 300+ yards, and rabbit sized ones slightly less. The filter was around £24, but fitted the lamp perfectly, and could be fitted/removed in seconds. You can buy IR filter sheet which is cheaper, and is quite easy to cut into whatever shape you require.

V8 90
A Pulsar 750 recon - I've been using it on a Lightforce roof bar/Deben remote handle with a NM800IR providing the illumination since harvest connected to a 7" monitor on the dash of my truck & it's awesome !! I'm going to fit the base of the remote lamp unit onto a set of roof bars so it can easily be fitted/removed when needed

Gimlet
Am I right in thinking you can't use IR filters on an LED light source as there's very little red spectrum in the light?
