First fox on a new Farm

My first evening’s lamping on a new farm I have picked up was a very long walk up and down some fields with quite steep gradients…Fantastic land for back stops but a lot of work to get up and over to check for foxes..

Not many foxes for such a large shoot with a lot of birds and stacks of cover, the farmer has home made fox traps so I guess they have accounted for a good number over time…

After 90 minuets of walking I went back to the truck and drove to a new area, then a set of eyes shone back in the distance lifting my legs to a good pace…

This fox was in a rape field with a big ditch in my way, then it hopped in to the cover strip…a few calls on my widgeon whistle and it came out and the round went in!!

There are Fallow and MJ on the farm so a chance at them was worth 2 hours of walking….
