deadeyedick
Big Angus - I live next door to Enniskillen..... Cakie - Yes there are lots of geese, however there are all on the vast Lough Erne and are very hard to get at. I am yet to think up a decent plan as to how one goes about getting at them! Unless there is away to lure them onto my flight ponds??! (within a mile or two of Lough Erne)

G.S.W
has anyone got any tips on getting land oround the newtownards area im a begginer and just trying 2 get into the sport a bit more ..G..
Jonnyni
You have little chance G.S.W. unless you know someone that already has land or if you know any farmers. Most of the land 'unfortunately' is closed off especially land that covers the flight lines of the pigeons in the Scrabo area. There still are some farmers who will not close off there land. My advise to you is find the pigeons and then politly ask at the nearest farm to the field who owns it and would it be possible to shoot there. Try to get out of the Ards area and more into the countryside. Try to join a club like Newtownards Wildfowlers you will find out information about the club on the B.A.S.C. website. Good luck. barryrabo
I was told this today, could someone please confirm it! From june this coming year, shooting over stubble,in the south of Ireland, will be ILLEGAL. The guy who told me this, also told me that the north is next!! I asked why and was told there was to many people shooting big bag's of birds, and discarding them in the nearest hedge.

Q:: Barryrabo, Were did you get this info regarding the discarding of pigeon into hedgerows???. Who ever they are they should think again about what they are doing. If they are only out to do vermin control, they should at least dispose of there kills in a proper manner. Ba
