vimm
I fancy treating myself for christmas so i thought why not a Berreta I have looked at a few second hand one`s of various models but im undisided?? I quite fancy the silver Pigeon .s. model. Any lads, lasses or southern poof`s had any experience of owning the 686, 28 inch multi choke model? Just wondering what they are like as im a complete novice regarding guns
Guest flightline
I didn`t realise the Silver Pigeon was a southern poofs` gun. How long has this been going on? Why wasn`t I told?
Cranfield
If, I knew a "southern poof" who owned one, I bet he would say, that it is a nice easy gun to shoot, looks good and is typical of Beretta quality. He would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

berettaboy
I have a 686E and a 687. Both good guns. the 686 in 28" barrels and the 687 in 30" barrels. Pick up a second hand one for £
Browning
I had a 686 silver pigeon a while back, lovely gun, no problems apart from....... I couldn't shoot the damn thing. I was told by a fairly emminent shooting coach that Berettas tend to suit the "fuller figured" person with the "chunkier" face. And as I'm a skinny wretch with high cheekbones the Beretta just didn't suit me. With his help I opted for a Browning Ultra and got better results overnight. Don't let this put you off, all I'm saying is that it's worth speaking to a gunsmith that can help you with fitting before you splash out. Well Browning you have now revealed to us all why Cranfield is so happy with his Beretta but before anyone suggests i try one, i am quite happy with my Browning 425. This forum is a goldmine of information and that is the best thing i have learned for weeks.

Cranfield
I prefer to think of myself as "cuddly".
