studley
Not my video but one from our cousins across the pond: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyMEBNgNZNM&feature=share Has anyone had any similar experiences, especially you punt gunners? I think my closest was a little egret landing arms length away when i was lying very still, but still no seal.
mudpatten
I once had a big seal bump his way underneath the punt. I think he was sizing us up to be used as an outhaul, something he`d been doing to small tender dinghies for some months. He`d have capsized us for sure so my punting partner fetched him a smart smack alongside the ear with an oar. He did`nt like that and swam off to look elsewhere for a place to dry out. rimfire4969
My cousin and I had seal pull on our leashes while surfing on the north Cornwall coast. We were sat on our boards waiting for a decent wave a seal was about 20 or 30ft away, next thing my leg was pulled sharply under my board then my cousins leg. Then up popped the seal next to us. It had swam passed and pulled our leashes. To say we were pleased it was the seal is a massive understatement. My first thought was SHARK. landofficer
I think a kayak on the northeast coast got over turned this year because the fish that had caught were in a bag keeping cool over the side and Sammy thought they were for him. Also you have to watch your dog up a lindisfarne when sending the dog in for a retrieve as seals take the ducks you have shot
Mr-Sheen
I have had a seal take my bait when out pike fishing before. However the closest i have come on the marsh is a big bull seal out on the front of frampton marsh that just kept surfacing in front of me and would not leave my decoys alone.
