Longchalk
Popped a bulb in the dining room tonight (Ok, it's the front room, but I shellacked out on a massive table so it's "The Dining Room" if I say so!) Went to the cupboard of power, but my stash of decent, honest, 100w, incandescent, tungsten filaments is now all gone.... Looks like I'll have to buy some of those useless bloody, Euro compliant, low energy jobbies. Which are the best ones? I'm all for saving the planet, but I'd quite like to still be able to see it. figgy
Led is the way to go for amount of light out put for little power use. If your not to bothered get a halogen bulb one. Flurecent ones are still cack as far as I'm concerned. Figgy
elgreco
Aldi still sell 100w bulbs but don't tell everyone ;-) Tom
Longchalk
Do they Tom? ... The little tinkers! I thought our Continental chums had put a stop to all that. Edited December 30, 2013 by Longchalk
aris
You can get 100w incandescent bulbs at Poundland. They are for 'industrial use' only though. I agree about fluorescent. Poor light, and don't last. LEDS are very good - but good ones are expensive. Edited December 30, 2013 by aris
elgreco
Yes I saw them a few weeks ago and stocked up. I really can't stand the flurecent ones or the wimpy 60s Tom
Longchalk
I've got a 60w in now, temporarily ... Looking in the mirror from the other side of the room, I can't even see how handsome I am... Thank God I still have my luminary vision. Chris Bb
I currently have a flood light in the back garden that's a 400W or 500W halogen. These tubes last weeks rather than months and the whole fitting needs replacing. Are LED floodlights up to replacing this sort of light/power yet? I see them advertised but they don't offer equivalent values.
