The Essex Hunter
With a break in the weather predicted and shoot day tomorrow Olly and I took a trip out to a recent farm I have picked up… I called the farmer this afternoon about coming over and he said we caught 2 in the traps last night!! Knowing you can’t get them all we set off for a chance of a fox, 20 minuets’ into our plan a set of eyes showed from the edge of the main holding wood. The first look through the Kahles told me we needed to close down on the red head peaking through the cover, with the wind in our face a brisk walk through the rape narrowed the gap and upped the change of a kill. The round went off finding its mark; know we had to find the fox! Olly went off ahead while I counted the distance. A very heavy vixen with a good few years under her belt, I called the farmer to mention he would not be getting this one in his trap… TEH
