hi all I need a big help!! .

does any nice person in the north east have a 1/2" unf x 20 die they want to sell or that I may use to put thread on an adapter I,m getting made for my air rifle to be able to put a mod on .

I have ordered one off the bay but even though the seller was listed as a UK seller the *** is in flaming Hong Kong :mad::mad::mad: ..

I have only just found this out now when I went to ask where my item is as it was despatched last Saturday and is not due for delivery till the 11th of Feb .

cheers

I find that one of the best places to buy dies is Tracy Tools, in Dartmouth, they are on the internet. Prices are about the lowest I could find even after extensive research and delivery is fast. If you intend to thread a rifle barrel for a moderator my advise is don,t do it it as is almost impossible to start a die square enough to the barrel bore without screw cutting it in a lathe.

I agree, if you don't have access to a lathe you'd be better off approaching a local small engineering company and ask them to machine and screw cut your barrel. I'd bet a twenty pound note would suffice, it'd wouldn't be a big job at all. A tea break job for a lathe operator.

Not almost impossible but pure fluke if you do, bore is not always concentric to the barrel od due to how barrels are made
