paddymax123
hi guys I am out tomorrow looking to do some crow decoying, I am planning to try to decoy the birds as they are on their way from the roost on my land to the fields they want to feed on that are not mine. have you got any tips on how to pull them down from the flight line and any tips while I am out there cheers
The Essex Hunter
I have found their keen eye will pick up any little movement, so plenty of natural cover in your hide. What ever you get stake out on a cradle or ke-bab stick. Also I like a flapper doing its thing...Sit tight and just pick one bird at a time, I quite often wait until they are over the hide and shoot them with up popping to keep the movement down. Once you have your pattern done, just sit tight and whack them... TEH

Cyrus1988
Get a Primos Power Crow call, I was out this morning with a few decoys and the call. They were loving it.
paddymax123
I have got a primos crow caller, but still trying to master it. just wandering do you call first to them or only reply?
Cyrus1988
If they're not flying towards my decoys I'll call to them and see if they take a look. If they're flying high over the decoys I'll call to them and try and get them down but if there coming in low I'll wait till they call first and reply. I'm quite new to it and still learning so there's probably a better way of doing it.
steve0146
I call if they are a long way off or not seen. They will come for miles to the primos. Once they have seen the decoys, if you are in the right place, they should come in.

paddymax123
got 16 crows and a pigeon, all the crows were between the time of 7am and 9.40am and managed the pigeon when just having a walk around after decoying

BRNDL
Great vid,s. I am struggling with my crows at the minute, they just won't commit to the decoys.
