naddan28
Hi guys, I know their is either a few mechanics on here and quite a few others very knowledgable about cars so have two questions (I drive a Ford Ka 2000): 1. How much does it cost and how often does a cam belt need to be replaced? 2. How much is a new clutch? In order to help me would it be posible if you could break it down to parts and labour? Thanks! Also i await remarks about my bird's car, hairdressers car, etc etc but it was cheap to buy, run and more importantly for a 19yr old male uni student INSURE! pin
Depends on which engine mate, Duratec or Endura-e ? Have a look here for the ford schedule http://www.etis.ford.com/fordservice/servi...leFormUpdate.do If it's a 1l, and from your post I am guessing it is, it doesn't have a cam belt but a timing chain and that doesn't need replacing usually. Dave-G
This would be a very usefull forum for someone with a KA: ford KA forum I have been on the Galaxy section for a few years now - it's better than asking shooters about knitting huh? Yes dave but not everyone on here just shoots! For example, as stated in the title their are a few mechanics and i wondered whether they knew. I think my KA is a 1.3 litre, i thought they all were? Well yes you might find 1% of shooters have a KA - and had a cam belt done who knows when to do it - and likewise for a clutch - that usually gets 100k+ miles so rarely - but you will almost certainly find almost 100% of KA forum members have or have had or work with KA's? ATB, Dave. - Did you join anyway - I'm sure there's loads of usefull info on there for you?
