Dyin to get out with it but unfortunatly i have been informed that i've to spend the whole day shooting ducks tomorrow on one of irelands nicest lakes.

How terrible for you, I get to push gravel up a hill in a wheelbarrow all day so I'll be ok. My thoughts will be with you, I hope you survive your ordeal

cz/ and 17hmrs have a flat trajectory right...

so assuming you zero it at 50-100 it shouldnt matter a great deal... if at all.

Am i right in thinking this.

no use the gun to its limit and then learn what it can do!!

which is well well over 100 yards

i know ive had one for six month now they are great and shoot straight for furrther than you think just try it

I was asking... if I have it zerod at 50 yards........ what is the drop rate on at 100... or do they shoot that strait that it is not effected.

then you have 150... etc..

I just wanted to get a rough idea of its drop rate.. sorry.

I don't own one myself yet, but have a trajectory chart for one because I'm reading up on them! Take a look at http://www.varmintal.com/17hmr.htm and see for yourself. If you're anything like me, this site covers almost everything you need to know. Scroll down it a bit and there's a trajectory chart, saves me typing it all out! :good:

Some of the more complicated stuff is still way over my head, and I've been reading through it for about a month! The simply put bits are ok though, and I found the various impact tests interesting. The coke can video is amazing to me, having only done it with 12ft-lbs and got a small splash at best. I'm going to have to try it for myself if I'm granted my cert!

no drop at 100 yards mate

im no exspert

ive just learned by shooting at targets and then sitting back with bipod on the bonnet and shooting a few rabbits at ove 120 yard its a grand piece of kit and the rounds are priced ok i think the remmington 17 grain boat tails i use workout at about 16 pence each

i shot a rabbit last night at 100 plus yards just below the ear and you couldnt see the entry point but

the exit was about half an inch round which is pretty good in ensuring a humane kill

let me know how you get on out in the field

cheers kirky :good:

I zero 1/4 inch high at 50 to be "on" at 100 - it's a rough guide that works for me.

Then shoot 25 - 125 yards without thinking about any hold over / under.

Cheers
