wymberley
If you think about it, you do (or should do) a risk assessment before every time you pull the trigger. I say, "if you think about it" because odds on are that you probably don't realise that that is exactly what you're doing. It's easier for us as we don't have to consider the severity of the hazard - without exception this is always severe - so the level of risk is our only concern. TDRsniper
There is an obvious difference between a written risk assessment and a dynamic risk assessment which we all do everyday as part of normal life. Is it a requirement for the perm? If so use the example above but think very carefully about you specific location as each one should be done on its own merits and issues. Dekers
...and for many companies I have to do Risk Assessment & Method Statement, which are generally consigned to a bottom office drawer or file x immediately without ever being read! NickB65
...and for many companies I have to do Risk Assessment & Method Statement, which are generally consigned to a bottom office drawer or file x immediately without ever being read! until the day an incident does happen and that risk assessment means the difference between negligence and a huge fine or not. Accidents or incidents will always happen and it is only a matter of time until and foreseen event occurs. How often have we read here about dog walkers coming into the field or people being where they are not supposed to be. If those shooting were not aware or were not performing risk assessments then the unforeseen might of happened. Risk assessment or a method statement of how you manage risk may make a difference if the tragic ever did happen.
