pestcontrol1
I started working a load up the other day for my mates 22-250 the other day with 55gn sierra"s and and thought i would use Elcho 17 for cheapness and WOW very supprised in the results. Also tested some Re-15 which i could"t get the speed without getting pressure sings flattened primers at only 34gn so they were not a option to use. The Elcho 17 started low and worked up group size started off at about 1.5" at 100 yrds with 37gn of powder and was getting smaller with every powder increase 38gn been 3/4" group which he was happy with but i pushed on and tested the remainder of the bullets and then went to look at the groups all the bullets shot to the left and two inch high but we found that 39gn was the one all 3 bullets ringing each other and then started to open up again with each powder drop over 39gn and pressure sings flatterned ( CCI ) primers at 40gn but shooterble. Not sure of fps as someone shot my chrono but they are motoring on Now i know alot of people say that Reloader powder and Elcho powder is dirty now i arnt to bothered about a dirty powder as i clean my rifles after use but i must say that the start loads i did for the 22-250 were a little dirty ( very small ammount ) but working up the powder charges it burnt very clean pushing the 55gn bullet. We shot roughly 25 rounds testing them and my mate got abit excited yesterday shooting crows and put another 20 odd rounds through it dropping crows out to 360yrds and says that the barrel is not as dirty as some factory rounds that hes shot. So all in all bullets that shoot very well in his rifle sub 1/4" @ 100 yrds and shoot flat you can still see bullet strikes all for less then the price of privi around £30 per 100 now that is cheap shooting. I am testing in my 204 now not sure what i will find but its got two options shoot better then H4895 shoot worse then H4895 Cheers for reading PC1

henry931
With a good length barrel I wouldn't be surprised if you were 3800+. It's a pretty high energy powder similar to N550. Might be a bit slow burning for a .204 though...
