Divaticulitis

very interesting - in the past few years i,ve had the pain , urine test , even antibiotics , thinking it was just a urinary infection several times.

just after christmas , i was in agony , sweating , shivering etc and feeling so weak i could,nt get off the living room floor . i saw the doc and had a few blood tests , this showed inflammation and infection somewhere ( but god knows where ) so had a course of anti biotics .

anyway the pain went all around my abdoman as if following the path of the colon up one side and down the other.

i also felt really blocked up :) , so she gave me some drinks , 3 drinks later i felt so much better and so relieved , the antibiotics kicked in and i recovered .

Any how the blocked up feeling as started to come back again and i,m having a mixture of constipation and soft stools and my lower abs hurt if i have to push while on the loo and hurt more or less all the time ( but mostly on the right side above my hip area ).

i am just wondering if this as been diverticular all along , i know i have it ( i was shown on camera about 8 years ago ) BUT i dont think my doctor has a clue , infact she'd have to go a few years back in my files to find it.

Does this sound like anything you guys have had

With diverticulitis the pain is generally on the left side of the lower abdomen going down to the pubic area.

Constipation is certainly a symptom but it is usually preceded by the squits .

No doctors on here as far as I am aware so you would be better discussing your concerns with one , if you think yours is not up to it find another.

To diagnose diverticular disease you will need to undergo a colonoscopy .

hello fellas. sympathy to all who have this nightmare. had it now three years. chronic pain when flare up occurs. dr not a clue in whats going on. once he gave me buscopan .what a joke. from what I have learned through trial and error is plenty of water and lactlouse now and again and senna .to keep from getting constipated. good luck to all sufferers.

I only needed to have a flexible sigmoidoscopy to diagnose I had it and it is less 'intrusive'. Thought I would mention as Google can be your friend and your enemy at times.......
