  1. Posted Yesterday, 06:31 PM Without punctuation, my brain hurts! Dougall, Motty - after a long hard day you have brought a few happy tears to my tired eyes and I thank you for this. Apols to Old06 for not sticking to your original ask but credit where credit is due
  2. No issue with vaping on the Friday - I would have enjoyed a challenge as it would have taken my mind off my sore feet and focussed it on someone's facial features and then their back when they 'moved on'....
  3. I use one of these to stop it moving around in the boot - very secure on a rubble boot mat - http://www.bestfittings.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=565
  4. Not suprised you dispatched him, with all that metal in him and replacement hips he probably struggled walking
  5. How about trying ecig mod stands? Only one real place doing them in wood and they are based in France (UK couple) - http://www.ecig-stands.com/gallery.html With the rise of electronic cigs plus some of forums have over 10,000 members this is a potential un-tapped market. Low overheads and easy to make - worth a look
  6. +1 Thoroughly enjoyable. Rain stopped just before we started and started again just after we finished - perfect!
  7. As Cosd says, I got the Pro version (has a variable speed controller so not sure if it is a different motor to the 'Advantage' version or just an added controller). needed two 12v 7amp batteries to last the whole day first time out so now take an 18v out. Key for me was weight saving over A1 magnet. Setup is nice and light now.
  8. Inspired Phil - may start voting at election time now. Sorry to our friends in the Shetlands but still laughing as I type
  9. Evening Alex - 'Bullpups' are becoming more common now and a new range of these have been released recently and there seems to be a trend appearing. Very popular in America with the bigger calibre's. these new Bullpups are essentially short barrelled 'tactical looking' air guns that some would use in tighter spaces due to the overall length being generally shorter. As people have mentioned you can get a normal carbine version of most air rifles that do the same thing. Have a look on www.airgunbuyer.com under the air rifle section as they have a few examples from FX, Evanix and Kalibrgun. There are others but this will give you an idea - plenty of Youtube vids you can watch that review these and more. Atb
  10. Well done as always Paul in your generosity for PW members
  11. Hi Martin and welcome aboard
  12. Alex, based on your point around the XVI you want something that is aesthetically pleasing to you as well as accurate. I have a Vermi MK2 in .22 and for me it ticks both boxes (my personal opinion). I too looked at the AA TDR and looked at the reviews and its a top gun with a top chassis (S410). The Vermi has the same level of accuracy (based on my tests) so it ends up with cosmetics, how it feels to mount and connectivity of bottle/cheek piece (before I get shouted down there are obviously other differences) At the end of the day you need to feel happy with what you buy and have something that puts a smile on your face rather than someone else's. ATB and good luck with whatever you choose
  13. Hi and welcome aboard. I am sure you will get some great advice on here. Do a search first and if you cannot find the answer just post your question in the right section and the replies will come in. All the best
  14. Great vid and shooting Cooter - keep em coming
  15. +1 for Terry (Bakerboy) great coach!
  16. FB - BB seemed to like my semi and especially over and under.......
  17. Well after sitting in the hide the other week and knowing that each shot counted as there were very few birds about I managed to miss two sitters - "whats going wrong" again and again went through my head. Only one thing to do and that was to go and see a coach to find out what I was doing wrong as it was not the gun or the birds fault. So I got hold of Terry (Bakerboy) down at A1 Shooting (less than a mile off the M25 off the A1 heading south) for some needed coaching. Well today I got up, excited of what was to come, and headed down to see Terry. After a nice cup of tea in a well stocked and comfortable 'lodge' we started off with gun fit, I had brought both my OU and Semi and all was OK there for both guns, no adjustments required. Next onto eye dominance. This is where I think I have googled too much in the past and after being told I had 'central vision' and then on a second 'test' was 70% right eye dominance I ended up with all manner of tech over the last couple of years to try and sort this out (what I was trying to sort out God only knows). After talking to Terry though it became clear I was around 90% right eye dominance and we would try without the tape, magnets, dots and see how we go. It was also good to understand what the person doing the test is looking at when you point your finger or raise your unloaded gun mounted. So we headed out onto the layout and start at a stand with slowish left to right and straight away, "pull" miss, "pull" miss, this felt familiar........ So bit by bit Terry started to create the jigsaw pieces (sorry for stealing that phrase Terry but it was spot on) and we moved on and clays stared to break. From gun mount to lead to sight picture to foot placement to body rotation all the little elements when you piece them together ended up with hits and therefore confidence. We moved around the stands and added a new piece of the puzzle to the overall jigsaw. The eureka moments were around getting the mount just right, barrel not too high and stock just far enough back therefore making the mounting of it more natural and with less effort. The sight picture was the other key piece. Don't get me wrong I'm just restarting the journey again and this as everyone on here knows never finishes and no one is the finished article. And as far as the eye dominance was concerned in the end all I needed to do was close my left eye just before taking the shot. Terry was great and his way of explaining everything and making it make sense was fantastic. Terry obviously loves what he does down at A1 as he just ouses the right level of confidence in you and that wears off onto you. I am so glad I went there today and spent and hour or so with him and the guys and gals at A1. A warm and welcoming place that I will be going to again if for no other reason but to practice and not forget what I guess some may take for granted. All the best Terry and catch up soon. Vince. PS - Phil and Claudio, its was good to see you again.
  18. Great piece of kit - I loaded mine with pork pies and a damn fine burgundy (the birds were slow to show today)
