scolopax
I was out beating on Friday and when taking a well earned rest between drives I noticed a ladybird on my sleeve. Taking a closer look at the ground I saw that it was alive with assorted bugs etc. Today there was a honey bee catching the sun on my car and a couple of minutes later a red admiral butterfly floats past! And all of this in the frozen north (i.e. Yorkshire).
il cacciatore
Great news about expanding seasons. Hopefully one day we'll have climate like the med.

il cacciatore
Its mental. The birds are singing and bulbs are sprouting in our garden. Our fig tree even has figs on it (albeit very small) and the Camelias are flowering, I thought they flower in April! Lets hear it for the Gulf Stream! SNAKEBITE
I love cold crisp frosty mornings as much as I love the Summer. A blend of different seasons is what gives us such pleasure.
tosspot
won't be too good if birds start nesting year round and the shooting seasons are made shorter
naddan28
although surely we would have more pigeons to shoot? Also if birds nested all year round I reckon the corvid populations would increase dramatically, all those songbird nests for the horrible things to raid! SNAKEBITE
Nature will sort itself out eventually. I hope.
invector
It used to be like the Med. Rhino and hippo fossils have been found in the UK.
