nick13
Is this Nationwide organisation? Or just a certain area?
Davyo
It covers a lot of the midlands and north east ( well cleveland ),good value for money, the only problem is members dont like telling each other what fields are getting hit(might of changed now).Plus its a bit of a lottery where the fields are gona be,but still good value for money.Main tip would be to check the field lists, and observe activity then book the field out.All booking has to be done Mon/Fri only so plan ahead for a weekend. williamr
Its good value for money,as the thread says, you need to personally recce the fields in the area you want to shoot the following day for any succsess, generally as a new member you do not get any direction or prime fields as new sown bean fields for example, other members ring me to inform me that they have had calls from the organiser to give them the heads up on prime shooting hot spots, you have to do your time for a few years before you are given the prime info, you phone between 19.00 and 22.00 hours and if the field is free you book it out, unless you know another member who will share info you get nothing from the majority its up to you to find out plus you need to ask were the specific areas are as 100 mile plus recce trips will be common. Good luck. Edited March 29, 2014 by williamr
OJW
Davyo, I am a new member to NPPC. Is there a group on which the members communicate or anything? At the moment I have just have the materials they send out to you when you join. Need to ring John to run through the map system with me ect really. Cheers
holly
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ the above link is to the maps i use for nppc , type in the grid reference off the fields list and zoom out till you find a named street or road then use your sat nav to get there , i then use an app on my mobile phone which gives me my current grid reference location
Davyo
I think they talk on face book, but as I said earlier when I was a member I was always asking but nobody came forward( only one guy who I now shoot with on our own perms). You have to understand that if joe blogs has been watching number's build up and he tells all the members, he may not be able to book the field out for himself. Although the field list is quite extensive there may only be 1 or 2 fields within reasonable travelling distance. But over all it is really good value if you study the grid refs and put some leg work in.There is a minority that leave a bit if a mess behind, carts, crisp packets broken flasks ect, but generaly everyone respects the land they shoot. If you come across anything report it to John, the next man might blame you. Good luck mate its a great introduction to shooting. Regarding maps,go out and get yourself a walkers map, ordanance servey map and mark out fields near you. That what I used to do so you can check the boundries and then print pics off google earth. This way you get to know what lies behind the boundries. It is a good idea to introduce yourself to people who may live near that boundary, saves plod getting called out.
