Well jdog if you relax your conditions and give a bit more notice I would like to keep you company bagging a few pigeon,I take it hair under my arms doesn't count.

If you repeat this offer again I think I cover some of the criteria 1.own kit. 2.4x4 l200 3.good sense of humour. 4.own teeth. 5.does hair under my arms count. 6.Low expectations however good company.

You may want to put your thread in gaining permission section,it's so difficult finding a permission, the only advise I can give is put your best field shirt,jacket and trousers on, clean boots and go and introduce yourself to the local farmers,ensure you take your insurance and certificate with you,if you can give something in return,free labour,may be you have a trade that could be useful to the farmer,if you beat for a shoot this opens opportunities with the keeper helping with vermin control, Good luck.

When you arrive at a field for the first time it's daunting you are still unsure if you have the correct field although you have checked the map 2 or 3 times you don't want the local police turning up saying you are poaching , I always took the map and lists with me,so if things went wrong I could try and explain why I was on the field. As you can see by the lists it is always OSR however most farms have other crops such as barley and wheat, peas and beans but you never get to shoot these fields, why I could never work it out,if as a land owner you have issues with pigeons you shoot them on what ever stubble and crop,as for area's to shoot I used to shoot out by Selby , Malton was good, Good luck

Have you tried under bank reservoir at sheffield,I have seen big doubles landed and seen a photo of a very large pike in the 30 lb bracket from under bank, it may be worth a visit,I think it's still day ticket from Yorkshire Water authority.
