-Mongrel-
I'm going to build a small info-site with probably a contact page etc for a new enterprise I'm venturing into. I plan to basically self build a site and then get it optimised so, can anyone suggest a good, effective option that will allow me to do the above without getting tied into a 'package' and/or raped by the hosting fees. Might also want to link an email address to the site/company name. Suggestions? Blinking heck! Title should read 'website' obviously! LondonLuke
I am not technical in that department but used square space and found them very simple to work with
aris
Hosting fees need not be expensive at all. I use Vidahost - they are UK based which help with SEO. They offer all sorts of CMS apps such as Wordpress and dozens of others to put up a basic presentable page.
aris
Forgot to mention wix.com. My kids made some sites using this - fairly easy to do if you want to create a custom look to your site, but you could get trapped into their ecosystem in the long run. I think that may actually be 1 and 1 you are thinking of - http://www.1and1.co.uk/
huffhuff
I use wordpress quite a bit, good looking themes off the shelf. The main reason I use wordpress is the ease in updating from the end-user point of view.
-Mongrel-
It's taking me a while to look at all the suggestions, I will get through them, and thanks for all the suggestions.
