A few bunnies with the .410 hushpower

Hi gents,

It was my wife's night off last night so my turn to do the twins night feeds. I decided I'd do their 5am feed then get off out for some early morning crow bashing with my .410 hushpower so that's what I did.

I got to the woods about 5.30 as they'd woken up early for the feed which I was pleased with. Only trouble is the crows didn't turn up! I waited 45mins but only managed one shot at a passing pigeon which missed behind as I had to poke at it through a gap in the trees.

I decided to go for a walk round some farmed willow as it's usually good for rabbits. I bagged the first sat at the edge of the willow then missed three as I was walking round. one I fumbled for the safety but the other two I didn't see till they bolted and missed in my excitement. Next one was sat facing away from me so I creeped up to 20yrds and dropped it. The third I was most impressed with as I was sneaking along a hedge looking at one rabbit when another bolted about 10 yards out to my right then cut in front of me going away and without giving it any thought I'd bowled it over.

Bit gutted I missed three but three for seven is good for me and I had a bloody good morning, it was nice to bag a few rabbits and finally christen the new hushpower.

Gary

don't get hung up on the shot count, you did well with your .410 and at the best time of the day too :good:

I'm not too hung up mate I just keep track to know if I'm improving. It's definitely the best time of day, not always as productive as lamping but get to see loads of deer at that time as they love the willow especially now all the fresh leafs are coming through. Need to get a decent camera to capture it.

well done. :good:

Cheers mate

Well done Gary,I just bought a couple of boxes of fourlongs yesterday but haven't been out with the fourten for a few weeks. I've missed out on a few squirrels due to not having a second shot, but I still enjoy the single fourten for what it is.The pedretti is looking nice fella.

Cheers bud, get yourself out on them squirrels! That's what I wanted this for squirrels and roost shooting mainly but it's a nice little bunny gun too.

I'm gonna Devcon a picatinny rail underneath so I can mount a torch to it at some point, then paint it a matte green to hide the mod better. It sticks out like Mandingo's member at the minute!
