Help with quad sticks

Guys, I come seeking knowledge!! I set my rifle recently for the first time on some quad sticks, what a brilliant bit of kit!! I then proceeded to take each and every measurement of them to enable me to make some for myself. I missed a measurement though!! Doh!! My guess is each leg should be about 1.3cm x 1.3 cm is that about right? The next question is , what kind of wood to make them from and should I treat said wood with anything special?

Thanks for any help in advance. :good:

Sorted, had a look about, found an old bit of bridal from Mrs Traz, a lump of hard wood, some nut and bolts , and got the table saw out.

They seem fine, what do you guys think?

Got the lad to model for me!!

  • 2 weeks later...

i use the full length 1.8m ones

allows for a wide base and still enable me to stand up normally (6'4")

otherwise you find yourself crouching slightly

tip: put your feet font and back and lean into the rear one for maximum stability (front leg slightly bent pushing weight onto rear creates a tripod effect with the stick legs

This requires you to be upright like this:

not like this:
