Tinribz Posted April 26, 2014 Report Share Posted April 26, 2014 With all my permission now devoid of shootable pigeons i foned a local farmer who i shot for last summer on his peas to ask if i could have a go at the few birds that where out on this years pea drillings he said he would rather me have a go at the crows and rooks that where piking out the seeds with the forecast heavy rain all morning i wasnt to optermistic i set up with the weather of my back on the corner of a small wood i set out 2 dead rooks and 8 flocked full bodied decoys i had a slow but steady stream of corvids and ended the morning with a mixed bag of 1 magpie 2 jackdoors 2 rooks 2 pigeons and 3 crows for 29 shots not great on my part but i enjoyed it and so did the farmer so looks like ive got some peas to shoot this summer proper chuffed some good bags where shot on the field next door last year the only bad bit of the day was the constant stream of pigeon flighting 100 yrds to my left they just wouldnt pull of the line to my decoys i couldnt move because of a footpath that would of been directly in front of me i reckon i could of emptyd my cartridge bag no problem but hay ho cant wait for the peas to come through and the birds to build up Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tinribz Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Share Posted April 27, 2014 My shooting partner has moved away so its impossible for him to do much if any recon so i go have a drive about before and after work couple of times a week and even in my diner break im lucky are 2 main permissions are close to my work weve been shooting about a year now and had some good days no massive bags 20s-30s seemed to shoot better over the winter had a few good days on wheat stubble but the rape was more productive Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
