Steel vs Lead Shotgun Cartridges

Recommended Posts

I'm sure they are level headed guys, but you seem unaware that this 'instructional' offering has been made by people who haven't a clue what they're talking about.

I'm not questioning the way they put the video together - that's actually a pretty good effort and certainly better than I could manage.

This is the heart of the matter, perhaps you lads might ask and research before posting stuff that is less than correct for all and sundry to take as fact (as some believe u-tube more than the real facts)

I did make it pretty clear the cartridges weren't directly comparable and at no point was this depicted as instructional just a test for our own, and your, curiosity.

But it did show quite clearly how steel performs and unless you have done those tests yourself you can't deny you have learnt something today. And it provoked a discussion, so mission accomplished :)

But people are right it like compairing an air rifle and .243.

We allknow steel is a tighter pattern than lead and you get less in the case if you did a closer comparable loads you would find steel even better compaired to the lead try a 32g of steel and lead in say a 3.25mm shot size
