Me and the wife had some lessons there when we were starting out and after that we went about once a month. Now we have a 5 month old who comes shooting everywhere with us.

We haven't been to kelbrook for about 6months. The only reason is because we need the facilities to be better, eg better brew cabin to feed him and some decent loos where the Mrs can change him.

Its over an hour away for us so its not fair to shoot then drive back without sorting the wee man out.

I was at Kelbrook today, the first time out with my own gun, released quite a few clay pigeons back into the wild with no damage to them. I must admit I hit one clay that wasn't mine but was soon put right by a couple of lads there. Had a good day until I went to put everything back into the car when I locked my keys in the boot, had to get the mother in law to drive over from Clitheroe with my spare set and then take her out for lunch. Had a good day though and will be back for more next week.

Was there today, myself still trying to get to grips with my auto, can see it having a long holiday in the cabinet, stick to beretta o/u get on better with that. The auto in time I can see getting traded in against another o/u for field work when funds allow

Can I suggest that you give your auto a fair chance before binning it. I shoot an O/U for clays and my auto for pigeon shooting. A couple of weeks ago I used my auto on clays and shot badly. This is a gun that I average 2 for 1 on pigeons with and would not consider any other gun for the job. Problem is the auto is a lot lighter and takes a deliberate effort to keep it moving, especially on crossing type clays, not a problem that I have with pigeons, just clays. My O/U is almost 1lbs. heavier and that keeps the swing going. Rather than switching guns for the same type of targets, try keeping each gun for it's specific purpose, you may find the transition easier than you think. Used the O/U on clays this morning, dropped very few. Those I missed were down to my gun start position and lack of concentration, NOT the particular gun being used.
