Afastr
Sent them an email about the wood stocked 12 gauge. Hopefully will get it!

TriBsa
They might be Section 2's. That one with the synthetic Stock looks under 24" barrel and there is a wooden plug in another pic. Tom
Afastr
I'm assuming that the reason that the Synthetic stocked one has a tape measure next to it is to demonstrate that it is over 40 inches total length as the barrel is only 21 inches. Missed that - so THAT one is Section 5 then!!!
jay222
If its over 40 inches it would be section 1 if its got a sub 24inch barrel
saddler
If its over 40 inches it would be section 1 if its got a sub 24inch barrel er, NO Semi & pumps MUST be BOTH minimum overall length AND have minimum 24" barrel Edited June 4, 2014 by saddler
jay222
Fair enough going to be a dodgy one to sell then
Afastr
" Short-barrelled "assault shotguns" (self-loading and pump action shotguns with barrels of less than 24 inches or overall length of less than 40 inches). These are prohibited weapons requiring the Secretary of State's authority. Shotguns that are sawn off to have a barrel length of less than 30 cm or an overall length of less than 60 cm are likewise prohibited" From http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm199900/cmselect/cmhaff/uc95/uc9505.htm The way I originally read that was that you could own a shotgun with a barrel of less than 24 inches if it was over 40 inches total. However, when I read it again it definitely seems to me that a 21 inch barrel, even though the rest of the gun is over 40 inches is prohibited. The Mighty Prawn
Lovely vague legal wording again!!! Much like the oft discussed American right to bear arms I feel an apostrophe or lack of might hold the answer... From the above post the section "self-loading and pump action shotguns with barrels of less than 24 inches or overall length of less than 40 inches" suggests if either of those conditions are not met its sec 5 and you need men with earpieces outside your house to own one... However add a comma after 24 inches and it becomes "self-loading and pump action shotguns with barrels of less than 24 inches, or overall length of less than 40 inches" could easily be read as an either/or clause ie if it is this (less than 24 inches) or that (overall less than 40 inches) it's restricted but as long as the total overall is over 40 inches you're okay... Seeing as there is no apostrophe at least in the quoted version I'd have to say its a no from me However as my wife would quickly point out, I am frequently wrong! Afastr
Got a response, just enquiring as to whether the 12 gauge is FAC or SGC and what the chokes are now.
TDS
A good price , but certainly not new. Both wood stocked receivers marked , a chunk of wood missing off 12g fore end , see photo where wood meets receiver ,there is an "L" shaped broken step.. 12g barrel has been modified with variable gas screw in the barrel retaining ring...20g 1100 is the old type ,now obsolete , not the lightweight version...this was built on the 12g action and though some 12g parts swap , some are unobtainable , hence can be like hens teeth , pricey if found... saddler
Not had any more word from the seller since one e-mail last week Pity, as the 20-ga looked nice, even if it wasn't an LT-20 Ho hum...anyone have any success in the others as I notice the advert has expired...prices may have been too good to be true & the first to see them snaffled up the lot

TriBsa
Bloody Jehova's Witnesses get everywhere!! I was thinking more "you're nicked" rather than "you're saved". May have been all proper and above board, hope it was. But as TDS pointed out they weren't new. Then there's the question of are they FAC or not, and the ad should state. Then there's the dimensions of the synthetic stock one. Plus who keeps the original boxes? The old saying is "if it looks too good to be true it probably is". Cynical, me?
