spandit
Why is this almost identical to this advert, down to the spelling mistakes?: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/116490-colchester-gamekeeper-with-3-barrels/

spandit
Just seems a bit odd. I'd be wary of buying this rifle without seeing it in the flesh first
FalconFN
Just seems a bit odd. I'd be wary of buying this rifle without seeing it in the flesh first+1 It does ring a few alarm bells and it is better safe than sorry.
RED BEARD
I wouldn't buy a £850 gun without seeing it anyway.
spandit
I wouldn't buy a £850 gun without seeing it anyway. Quite so but for someone keen on acquiring a rifle like this, it might be impractical if the other side of the country. I notice the member joined 2 days ago and hasn't made any posts. Cranfield
I wouldn't buy a £850 gun without seeing it anyway. Nor would any sensible person. Unfortunately there are fools that send large sums of money on the expectation that someone they have never met and don't know, is going to send them the item. Only buy face to face, or via RFDs, with the money being held by the Buyer's/Seller's RFD (TBA) until the item has been received in good order. danny_boats
One Barrel Maybe its the same because its the same gun and I searched the internet for other before putting mine up for sale. I wouldn't expect anyone to buy it without seeing it ! Maybe I joined to sell my gun ! Maybe I have not replied yet because I have been too busy lol What a nice bunch of people
spandit
Look at it from our point of view - does look a bit suspicious and the fact you haven't bothered to change the wording makes it more so. Good luck in your sale, though
danny_boats
I suggest reading the two again, think you will find only the relevant wording was kept. But thanks to you all for pointing out that the wording was re used I did not realise this was against any rules and the point you have tried to make is ?? spandit
I suggest reading the two again, think you will find only the relevant wording was kept. But thanks to you all for pointing out that the wording was re used I did not realise this was against any rules and the point you have tried to make is ?? The point is that a unknown person with no history on the forum, advertises a high value item by copying the wording from an advert by somebody well known. It looks like you're trying to run a scam. It's not against the rules to copy wording, per se, it just looked dodgy, a false positive, if you will. I apologise for upsetting you, but you've probably got more views as a result! I hope you sell it and stick around - there are some genuinely knowledgeable and helpful folks on here (and some offensive idiots but that's the beauty of an open forum)
danny_boats
Don't you think welcoming new members is more important ? A private message explaining this and a few pointers would have been more beneficial to both the forum and the new member ? Rather than ruining someones advert ? So you say so far I have no experience of this.
spandit
Don't you think welcoming new members is more important ?. Don't you think introducing yourself as a new member before posting a sales advert might have got you a more favourable response? http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/forum/25-welcome-to-pigeon-watch/ I think it's more important to warn people of possible scams Also, from the sticky topic in this sub-forum (http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/50088-terms-and-conditions/) Use extra caution when entering into a deal with a member that has: no post count no established reputation here never sold to anyone in our forum before recently registered on the forum Check. Check. Check. Check Welcome, anyway. Can't see how I've ruined your advert, each interaction only serves to prove that you are a genuine seller and not a scam artist. danny_boats
So everyone has already been warned ! No need for you to ruin my advert after all............. Does it say anywhere to introduce yourself as a new member before posting a advert ! Hmm I didn't find that rule either !!! Ruined by pointing out this could be a scam, would make me stay away from it as well as it will other i expect, so thanks for that. Use extra caution when entering into a deal with a member that has: no post count - I joined to sell my gunno established reputation here - I joined to sell my gunnever sold to anyone in our forum before - I joined to sell my gunrecently registered on the forum - I joined to sell my gun So none of which could have been avoided ! Welcome lol !!!!! Edited June 23, 2014 by danny_boats

Same place it says that I can't "ruin" your advert (although by consistently bumping it by replying, as well as linking to an advert with pictures of the actual gun, I can hardly see how that's ruined it). I hope it's worth the extra £200 you're asking for it (even without the extra barrels), assuming you paid the £650 asking price in 2010
danny_boats
Read the advert for the second time now. See the diving bottle advertised ?? know how much they are worth on there own ?? Or are you just around to annoy people because you have nothing better to do ?? For someone telling everyone that it looks like a scam you did not read it very well did you !!!
