webber
Gents Around Christmas time a good friend of mine suffered a minor stroke. He has made a massive recovery and has lost virtually no time off work. As a precaution the police have removed his licenses and I have his guns in storage. He has lost some peripheral vision in the upper quadrant of both eyes, but this is not causing him any appreciable issues. He would like to make a private consultation with a Neurosurgeon who understands the requirements of shooting with regards to vision etc. Are the PW massive able to suggest a suitably qualified practitioner to undertake the examination and report. Preferably based in the North of England, but travel is not an issue. webber
keg
Sorry, i can't help with a contact but removal of his guns seems harsh.
aris
Check out the spire healthcare website. Each (private) spire hospital has a list of their consultants and their specialities. What you are looking for is a neurologist. The listing should include a secretarial phone number for each doctor if you have specific questions. p@cman
It seems very harsh indeed. Not sure quite how they can justify removing his licences. Hopefully someone from the PW massive will be able to help... Edited June 26, 2014 by p@cman
Twistedsanity
If its a problem with loss of vision wouldn't an optician be a better bet? If your vision is failing the DVLA send you to specsavers for a test before revoking your licence regardless of the cause of visual Impairment
