Penelope
Good find, some nice crocs there. Good to see they ain't being banged on the swede in those beats. Dunkield
Indeed, people are finally realising what quite a few have said all along, a sensible number of pike maintain healthy fish stocks. The chalk stream set used to treat grayling like vermin, now they have cottoned onto making money selling days in the closed trout season they seem to like them - funny that
Fatcatsplat
There are bundles of guys at Hanningfield now deliberately targeting the pike over trout for better sport.
Penelope
The lower Itchen Fishery and Barton Court on the Kennet are a good examples of a more far sighted fishery management approach. Plus the additional revenue stream. Indeed, people are finally realising what quite a few have said all along, a sensible number of pike maintain healthy fish stocks. Dunkield
Plus the additional revenue stream. Nice We fished the Test for pike, can't remember the name of the beat just now, but I do remember the 15 pounder I caught on a plug though - lovely fish, I really must go back some time. Edit: Timsbury - just looked it up, nice place too from memory Edited June 27, 2014 by Dunkield
Penelope
Been there a few times, just too many trout when after the roach. kent
Its great sport Started years back before it was much spoken of with my Old mate MJ who helped design and build the first commercially made Pike fly rod for Greys. These days I prefer the saltwater 30 + years hunting Pike all over the place gets a little samey and I think I have seen the best of it now. I could perhaps supply some good hand tied and proven flies if any want to give it a whirl, pm me
pegasus bridge
I started fly fishing for trout with the ultimate goal of piking ( I'm a pike fisherman as a rule) but I've not yet graduated onto the heavier gear for pike , but I will do eventually!
