EMcC
If a group can be got for a December trip and it was for three days, I'm in. This is a very good deal indeed. Anybody else fancy joining me to make up a good party ?. Edited June 27, 2014 by EMcC
EMcC
Wow ! 133 views and no comments. I know there are several old hands at Driven Boar on this site so am surprised that nobody has offered any comments. For those that know me ;-) I have given up on Frank, good fun, good company, good food but not many pigs so am looking for more action now before I am too old to manage it any more !! EMcC
Three days hunting with four days bed, breakfast and evening meal with all transport and no trophy fees for 1500 Euros plus 60 Euros for the hunting licence. 1560 Euros is roughly £1300 so add another £250 for flight and firearm gives you a full package for £1550. If that can be got together for December, I am definitely in. Come on Dougy, Andy, Stu, what do you reckon ?
Dougy
unfortunately, i have booked with Frank again. so too late for this year im afraid, there is also the small concern about how much money i have to spend, specially as ive just bought another rifle
EMcC
I hear Frank has also got a trip to Romania this year, I was told it is £2.5k Good luck with your booked trip. What is the new rifle, is it going to be christened in Croatia or is it a general purpose sporting rifle?
Dougy
Toooo much for my wallet. It's not suited to sporting shooting I'm afraid unless I mount it on the roof of my pickup lol
EMcC
Did anybody read the article by Simon Barr about his Ibex hunt in Spain ? That was organised by the same Agent that is offering this trip to Croatia. Just thought I'd mention it in case anybody was wary of using an agent they hadn't heard of. Archie-fox
I'm hoping to get at them early next year...got the go ahead from the wife and some mates have a house in Poland so looking at options to do it over there..just sorting out the finer details.. EMcC
Good luck with that, Poland is a great place too, a lot flatter in some places and the drives are normally shorter too. Some of the shoots I've been on in Poland have been very short and very productive because they have driven agriculteral belts, fields of Kale or Maize and in one or two cases just deep ditches and hedgerows. The forest drives are pretty good too but watch out for Fungi pickers in front of the guns !!

Cheers mate, they actually shoot on my friends dads land so trying to sort out some high seat shooting maybe then try tag along on some driven shoots...the price should only be flights and a few quid to the family for the shooting so hopefully quite cheap...just looking at insurance and any other hidden fees.. EMcC
this is who I go with , http://basswood.co.uk/bsa/1800 euros all In , flights , ammo ,accommodation , and for four nights with 3 days shooting and I get to use my own semi auto 12 gauge with Brenneke slugs and rifled barrel I've been going with him for several years now but have noticed the lack of Boar, good craic, food, acommodation and organisation but sadly the same grounds and the pigs are getting less. I believe Frank is trying a different country this year as well as Croatia and from what I've heard cheaper than another agent that has been using the same country for a few years. Dunkield
I got back from the main ground on Sunday and it was teaming with pigs, sat in a seat I saw at least 20-30, the guy who was out for a stag at the other end of the estate claims to have seen hundreds. Neso's was very disappointing last year, having produced big bags of pigs in the past, and IMO the best land profile for driven shooting - but after that show it has been dropped from itinerary as far as I know. EMcC
One year we saw pigs come out in such big groups that we could not shoot, or it would have been unfair/cruel to shoot, as individual pigs could not be identified. One particular block where this happened, three such groups came out and with what the other guns saw, we reckoned on nearly two hundred pigs were in that particular block. That was the year we shot twenty six pigs in one day, but never before or again.
Traztaz
I think you guys will experience good pig Shooting this year. The Long summer last year, lack of winter and fairly dry spring this side of the Pond have seen boar populations explode. We are certainly expecting a huge season here in Germany.
