poontang
Popped out to a local reservoir with my new camera this afternoon. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball and it was overcast and dull all the time I was there, so the light was really flat, making it difficult to get any decent shots. Will try again tomorrow, if the weather's better. Anyway, this is what I was up against. The shot was taken just after a constant half hour downpour!! Rain stopped for a short while but most of the inhabitants had taken to the reed beds for shelter by then. Typical. I managed to catch this little fella as he flew up the margin to feed. And this not so little fella enjoying a brief break in the rain. Hope you like.

poontang
Very nice. Will either of those be on the menu come September 1st? It would be nice. Unfortunately they don't tend to move too far from the reservoir. They're probably no further than a mile (as the crow flies) from the marshes I shoot, but it's rare to see them in any numbers...thousands on the reservoir though!!
